Publishing WCPT5 Papers -- Status of 2007 July 24
A number of papers from WCPT5 have now been selected and reviewed,
and we anticipate that they will be published within the calendar year 2007.
If you were a presenter and have not heard from one of our team members
that your paper has been selected for publication you are free to publish
your work in whatever journal you feel appropriate.
The editors and editorial staff of the peer-reviewed journals Particle Technology,
Granular Matter, Particulate Science and Technology, and ICHEM
have been working closely with the authors and we owe a debt of thanks to them.
Many other people have been helpful, and we would like to thank
in particular Ugur Tuzun for his dedication to this task.
Thanks again to everyone who gave a presentation at the WCPT5.
You all have contributed greatly to a very successful Congress.
Kindest regards, George Klinzing

Special Editions of Advanced Powder Technology
Advanced Powder Technology
-- the international journal of the Society of Powder Technology, Japan,
is published jointly with
The Society of Powder Technology, Japan (SPTJ)
[a Japanese language site]. The editor-in-Chief is K. Higashitani (Kyoto, Japan).
Adv. Powder Techn. has published several papers from WCPT5 in its online edition
Vol. 18(1) for February 2007. There is a fee to view each article.

We Had a Very Successsful Congress!
The Fifth World Congress on Particle Technology
was held on April 23 through 27, 2006, at the Dolphin Hotel
in Lake Buena Vista (near Orlando), Florida, USA.
Photo Report on WCPT5
Bulk-Online's photo-report
Over seven hundred registrants from around the globe listened to
hundreds of oral presentations and discussed hundreds of posters
with their authors.
General Schedule and Key Presenters
The AIChE produced Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM: one CD for
the 2006 AIChE Spring National Meeting and one CD for the Fifth World Congress
on Particle Technology. This double CD-ROM set includes 773 papers and abstracts
in an easy-to-use, fully-searchable format using Adobe Acrobat® Reader
and is Windows, Mac, and Unix compatible.
This CD is abstracted by Chemical Abstract Services (CAS)
Description and Order Form for the CD set
During the four years leading up to the Congress the leadership team
identified and recruited track chairs, plenary speakers, tutorial presenters,
session chairs, and individual presenters for the technical sessions.
They sent out flyers, wrote informative columns for technical journals,
announced the Congress at technical meetings around the world,
communicated via Email and phone with authors and chairs,
and maintained a Web site to attract and inform participants.
The track chairs, session chairs, and authors communicated extensively
to get abstracts and papers in on time and in the right format, to review
and sort papers into the appropriate sessions, and to make both authors
and audiences feel welcome and appreciated.
List of the Leadership Team
The AIChE staff provided the Web facilities that took in hundreds of abstracts
and papers, allowed review by dozens of session and track chairs
from around the world, and scheduled the presentations so as to minimize
conflicts in author schedules.
The AIChE staff also produced abstract books and CDs.
These identified the World Congress as separate from several other conferences
and the Spring AIChE meeting that were managed by the AIChE
and held in the same hotel at the same time (co-located).
Contributions from our sponsors and many exhibitors allowed us
to support several activities that made the Congress more enjoyable
and informative.
List of Sponsors and Exhibitors
We thank all participants for their technical contributions
and their good spirit in preparing for and attending the Congress.
